Colorado Springs, Colorado

Located near the bottom of Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs is the second largest city in Colorado and the 47th most populated city in the country.

In August of 1871 General William Palmer founded Colorado Springs. Originally, he intended the area to be a high quality resort community. With the discovery of gold and silver the area quickly became popular. During the 20th century, the city grew as a result of the presence of the American military.

In 2006, Money magazine named Colorado Springs as the Number One Best Big City in the nation on its list of “Best Places to Live.”
