Located in the Midwestern region of the U.S., Minnesota has population of a little more than five million. It was admitted to the Union on May 11, 1858, as the 32nd state. Known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”, the state’s capital, Minneapolis, was voted as one of the greenest cities in the U.S. by Popular Science.

After World War II, Minnesota became a center of technology. The state is now known for being moderate to liberal as far as politics go. Minnesota has a extremely high voter turn out and civic involvement. It is currently listed as one of the healthiest states in the country. Its residents are some of the most highly educated and literate in the nation.
